Join us on the second Weekend of each month for a whirlwind of great art and hands-on activities. Through the generosity of Discount Tire Company, the Museum offers free general admission on the second weekend of each month, with exciting activities, scavenger hunts, live performances, story time, free tours, and more. Each Discount Tire Free Family Weekend features an opportunity to learn about and make art with a featured local Valley artist, from muralists to dancers and more. This month's theme is HATS!

The romance of Taliesin West comes to life during this magical evening tour. Taliesin West's renowned fire-breathing dragon makes a guest appearance while Wright's desert masterpiece glows warmly beneath the Arizona moon. Come see Taliesin West how the rich and famous who visited saw it. (This tour is not intended for children under the age of 13.) Reservations required.

Join us on the First Friday of every month from 6-10 p.m. for one of the nation’s largest, self-guided art walks. Tour more than 70 galleries, venues and art-related spaces to see a variety of artwork and to enjoy the spirit and culture of the city. Visitors are invited to hop-on/hop-off free shuttles that circulate on three routes through downtown Phoenix’s arts districts. The shuttles meet at a connector hub at Arizona Center, and you can also catch the shuttles at any of the stops along the routes including Phoenix Art Museum, CityScape, Oasis on Grand and Unexpected Gallery.

Departing during the cooler temperatures of late afternoon and traveling through sunset, twilight and starlight, the Verde Canyon Railroad’s popular Summer Starlight ride is back.The Starlight Ride serves up a wide ranging mix of light, color and shadow as the Canyon transforms into a moonlit dreamscape. The romance of the rails is enhanced as daylight gives way to twilight.  The late evening return to the depot reveals neighboring Jerome romantically twinkling on Cleopatra Hill.

HOW TO TILE A BACKSPLASH

This post can be helpful to you if you are attempting your hand at tiling a backsplash for the first time. There are TONS of other tiling posts but this one will be the basics for the easiest kind of backsplash – a small mosaic. This can be tricky to space correctly but it is the easiest for getting an overall professionally finished look, especially if you're maximizing your updates with a tight budget.
